A Road Committee meeting was held Saturday, April 16th 2022. Tony Keys, President of the HVLOA, met with two members of the new Road Committee. The committee will be evaluating roads for this year's recommendation on road repair.
A noticeable improvement for our events in 2021 was adding parking space near the boat ramp. And, new location was made for the bands that play at our events. These improvements should allow events to continue more efficiently and with less burden on private property owners around event locations.
Gates have been installed at both the entrance and exit ramps. The gates are intended to stay open and only close, when necessary. The pyrotechnics folks establish the setback where we all must stay behind during the fireworks display. Anyone can set up chairs behind the taped off and in the area behind the closed gates during the firework show. The vehicles that were allowed behind the gates on July 3rd were either members of the fireworks crew or the band members, not residents.
These changes and other improvements will provide a safer environment, which is the #1 concern when having events.
On Saturday, June 26, 2021, a number of Holiday Villages Association Members volunteered to help patch our roads. It was great to see everyone come together for such a great cause. Our volunteers accomplished mitigating a large area in a short time frame under very hot weather conditions. AWESOME! Afterwards all who took part enjoyed great food as well as a good time socializing. We look forward to the next Road Patch Party and hope we can double the turn out. Thanks, Andrew Dames, for organizing this event!
